U14 Boys Rugby Tour to Shanghai
Congratulations to all the boys that represented CDNIS in the first boys rugby team.
The team left Hong Kong on Friday to enter in the Shanghai Rugby Club 7 a side competition. After a convincing win here in HK against the AISHK the boys were feeling confident and this showed throughout the tournament. In our first ever tournament the boys played some fantastic rugby with special mention going to Rahul Chellaram, Callahan McMaster, Roarke Kwan and Gerald Yan who all showed explosive speed, dominating defense, and great contributions to the overall teams success. Towards the end of the tournament it was obvious that the boys were getting tired and sore however they managed to secure a place in the final of the tournament! Unfortunately we did not win the tournament however to come second was a very pleasing result considering rugby is very new to a lot of our players. From a coaching stand point, the future of rugby at CDNIS looks extremely strong and both coaches are looking forward to continue the success next year.

T-Wolves Girls Ruby Team Rocks Kings Park
The girls rugby team played their first full contact game last night in cool windy conditions at Kings Park in Kowloon. All the girls were nervous about their first tackle game, however after the whistle blew to kick off you would never have known.
The rugby the girls produced was entertaining to watch and was typified by great running rugby, rock solid defense and brusing hits. Defense was highlighted by Grace Fung and Gabby Ring who pulled off tremendous, technique perfect hits that left the opposition wondering what hit them and the crowd jumping to their feet cheering and screaming!!! Janice, Magdelena, Karen and Tanishia all contributed greatly to our running game with some excellent evasion skills and strong hard running - entertaining to watch!!! Indeed all the girls demonstrated enormous amounts of tenacity, grit, courage and determination.
I encourage anyone who wants to watch entertaining rugby to come and support our girls in their up coming games!
Congratulations girls for a great first game!

SEASAC Gymnastics News
We took the first CDNIS U12 Girls Gymnastics team to compete in Singapore for SEASAC this weekend Dec 4-6.. This group is coached by myself and Marcy Trent, mother of Kinsey Long on our team. This ambisous group is also our youngest SEASAC team ranging from 7 years old to 11. While we did not place, it was a valuable experience, and not just because we got to swim in the hotels pools! There were over 300 competitors. 4 of our girls competed in Level 1 and 10 competed in Level 2. We were able to watch other girls compete in Levels 4 and 5 and all of us walked away feeling as though we need to work harder and improve and perfect our skills. The girls have been practicing since September and we will continue to train until April this year. We hope to compete in the HKSSF later this year and to do a performance for the school. I am very proud of this team who put in hours of extra practices in order to get ready for this meet. The school has also been extremely supportive in buying new equipment in order to develop the future gymnastics program. We have already received uneven bars and are waiting of some balance beams and a trampoline.
I wish I had time to write a blurb for you, but I think that is most of the facts. I've attached a picture of our team before we left for SEASAC.
Go T-Wolves!!!!
